The design brief called for a backpackers in Maputo, Mozambique capable of naturally responding to the challenging climate of Maputo. The design made use of the natural  day/night rotation of the coastal wind movements to naturally ventilate the habitable spaces. The form of the design was specifically formed to harness the cool night time breeze. The breeze blocks allowed for wind penetration whilst shading the exposed facades.
